LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Marryam Khan on Tuesday said that all entry points
to Lahore would be redesigned to reflect the city’s rich history, cultural heritage
and modern architecture.
She directed the authorities to ensure strict implementation of daily cleanliness
and road-washing activities across the district.
The commissioner made these remarks during a visit to Outfall Road and Shahdara
along with Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz.
During the visit, she reviewed cleanliness arrangements, road-washing operations
and a proposed redesign plan for the Shahdara entrance, one of the main gateways
to the provincial capital.
Officials of the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) briefed the
commissioner on the spot regarding the proposed welcome redesign plan for the
Shahdara entry point.
Marryam Khan observed that Shahdara serves as an important entrance to Lahore
and creates visitors’ first impression of the city.

3D design of the proposed project for comprehensive review. She said Lahore’s entry
points should project the city’s identity and be developed in a manner that highlights
its historical significance, cultural richness and contemporary urban character.
Reviewing sanitation arrangements, the commissioner directed the district administration
to continue regular cleanliness drives and road washing without interruption. “There will be
no compromise on cleanliness and road washing,” she said, adding that road washing had
been incorporated into the routine sanitation schedule across all tehsils of Lahore.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz and officials from Metropolitan Corporation
Lahore, IDAP, Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA), Lahore Development Authority (LDA)
and Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) were also present during the visit.
