FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has completed development projects worth more than Rs354.971 million during May 2026 including electrification of 82 villages and completion of dozens of transmission and distribution schemes for strengthening the power network across eight districts of Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions.
A FESCO spokesman said here on Tuesday that FESCO's Construction Directorate successfully executed a series of development initiatives in the districts of Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Mianwali, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Khushab.
The projects included electrification of 82 new villages, completion of 53 Low Tension (LT) proposals and six High Tension (HT) feeder schemes at a cumulative cost of Rs354.971 million.
He said that out of total expenditure, more than Rs196.363 million was spent on extending electricity supply to 82 villages while Rs94.681 million was utilized for six HT proposals and Rs63.927 million for completion of 53 LT proposals.
He said that the projects were carried out under the directions of FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Muhammad Aamir and under the supervision of Project Director Construction Ahmed Ali Shah.
During last month, 14 LT proposals worth Rs16.378 million were completed in Faisalabad, 13 LT proposals of Rs19.262 million in Jhang, 18 LT proposals of Rs19.353 million in Sargodha and 8 LT proposals of Rs8.

These schemes are expected to improve the reliability and efficiency of the low-voltage distribution network in the respective districts, he added.
He said that electricity was provided to 19 new villages in Faisalabad at a cost of Rs45.936 million, 5 villages in Jhang at Rs6.537 million, 43 villages in Sargodha at Rs102.936 million and 15 villages in Mianwali at Rs40.954 million, bringing power supply to dozens of previously underserved rural communities.
He said that the Construction Directorate also completed one HT proposal in Faisalabad at a cost of Rs50.695 million, 2 schemes in Jhang costing Rs19.424 million, one scheme in Sargodha worth Rs6.312 million and 2 HT proposals in Mianwali with Rs18.250 million, he added.
Meanwhile FESCO Chief Engineer Muhammad Aamir appreciated the performance of Construction Directorate and directed FESCO officials to maintain the same pace in completing ongoing development schemes.
He said that timely execution of power infrastructure projects would enhance FESCO’s distribution system, improve service quality and provide maximum relief to consumers across the region.
Strong electricity network through sustained investment and infrastructure development is a major priority of FESCO to meet growing demand and ensure equally and reliable power supply in urban as well as rural areas of the region, he added.
