1090 kites recovered

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Police recovered a large consignment of 1,090 kites along with a huge quantity of metal strings and pulleys during a crackdown against kite flying.

According to police sources, teams led by Station House Officers (SHOs) of City, Saddar, Shah Pur and Tarkhanwala police stations conducted joint raids against kite sellers and flyers.

During the operation, the police recovered the kites and strings from the godown of a local dealer, identified as Sohail Anwer.

A case was registered against the accused under the Kite Flying Act (FIR No. 1656/25), and he was arrested from the spot.

During initial investigation, it was revealed that the recovered kites and metal strings were being supplied to different parts of the district. Police said the use of metal strings posed a serious threat to public safety and could cause significant harm.
