FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir said that the district administration has intensified enforcement of the zero-tolerance policy against overpricing under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz to provide maximum relief to the citizens during the holy month of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.

Chairing a meeting, he reviewed the performance of price control magistrates and said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been activated across the district to ensure availability of essential commodities at officially notified rates.

He issued clear directives that food items must be sold strictly at government-fixed prices and no shopkeeper would be allowed to charge excessive rates.

He directed the price control magistrates to further accelerate checking activities in markets, bazaars and Ramzan facilitation bazaars, and initiate strict legal action against those failing to display official price lists at conspicuous places.

He emphasized indiscriminate action against the elements involved in profiteering and hoarding. He also urged the citizens not to pay more than the prescribed rates rather promptly report any complaints to the authorities.

Daily market monitoring would continue throughout Ramzan to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities at reasonable prices for disseminating benefits of government relief measures to the common man effectively, he added.
