11 arrested in alleged online obscene content, live-streaming operation

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Police have arrested 11 local and foreign nationals in a major crackdown on an alleged gang involved in sharing obscene and explicit content through live streaming on adult websites.

According to police spokesperson, the arrested individuals include both men and women of local and foreign nationality.

Among those detained are two foreign men, two local men, and seven women, including one foreign national.

During the operation, police also recovered a pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, a laptop, and other equipment allegedly used for live streaming and uploading explicit videos to various online platforms.

Authorities stated that the suspects were operating an organized network that produced and distributed obscene content through online streaming services. A case has been registered with Rawat police station and all 11 suspects have been taken into custody.

Investigators believe the inquiry could lead to significant revelations regarding the network's operations, funding, and possible links to other law breakers. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest additional members and facilitators associated with the group.

Police officials said they are coordinating with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to expand the scope of the investigation and examine the digital aspects of the case.

The authorities reiterated their commitment to take strict action against individuals involved in the exploitation or abuse of women and children. Officials emphasized that anyone found violating the law, regardless of status or background will face legal action without any discrimination.
