119 road accidents reported during Eid

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) At least 119 road traffic accidents were reported across Gujrat district during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays from May 27 to 29,2026(Wednesday-Friday) leaving one person dead and 154 others injured,according to data released by Rescue 1122 on Saturday.

The emergency service said it responded to all reported incidents and rescued 155 victims during the three-day holiday period.

Of the injured,76 were administered first aid at the scene while 78 were shifted to hospitals for further medical treatment.

Statistics showed that motorcycles were involved in the majority of accidents, highlighting persistent concerns over reckless driving and inadequate safety measures among riders.

A total of 126 motorcycles were involved in the reported crashes.

Other vehicles involved included 18 cars,four rickshaws,four vans,two trucks,one bus and four other vehicles.

Rescue 1122 officials urged motorists to strictly observe traffic laws,avoid over-speeding and adopt precautionary measures to help prevent accidents.

The emergency service remained on high alert throughout the Eid holidays and continued providing rescue and emergency response services across the district.
