12000 families receive Ramzan NIgehban Cards in Layyah

LAYYAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s poor-friendly initiative of Ramzan NIgehban Cards has

started benefitting impoverished communities as 12000 families have so far received the Rs 10,000 financial assistance ATM Cards at their door step out of the 70000 allocated for district Layyah.

Deputy commissioner Layyah said in a statement on Tuesday that 30000 Ramzan Nigehban cards have so far been received by the district administration and out of these, 12000 handed over to the families at their door steps in a dignified manner and the process was still ongoing. He warned merchants of strict action in case of making illegal deductions from the financial assistance meant for poor people.

Meanwhile, the administration has made arrangements for ‘Iftari’ facility at seven points in Layyah district and officials said the Ramzan Dastarkhwan will be sufficient for over 2000 fast-observing people daily. The points included DHQ hospital Layyah, Fateh Pur, Chowk Azam, Chobara and others.

Exactly 35 price control magistrates and PERA force have been deputed to monitor markets and penalize those who resort to demand excess price of commodities.

One Ramzan Sahulat Bazaar and fine On-The- Go Ramzan Bazaars have been set up in the district to provide essential food items to the people at low price.

Improved cleanliness and lighting arrangements have been put in place at mosques and Imambargah.
