129 inspectors promoted to DSP

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Punjab Police have accelerated their promotion process, with 129 inspectors elevated to the rank of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) on Thursday.

The promotions were approved during a board meeting chaired by Additional IG Punjab Imran Arshad.

According to the spokesperson, 86 officers meeting all rules and merit criteria were promoted on a regular basis, while 40 officers received officiating promotions. Three DSPs were instructed to continue on officiating assignments.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, congratulated the officers on their promotion, extended best wishes, and urged them to continue selfless service to Pakistan and fearless protection of the country.

The meeting was attended by DIG Establishment One Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Mohammad Abid Khan, Registrar Hamir Ahmed Qureshi, and other relevant officers from the Home Department and Regulation Wings.
