SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency has completed its three-day Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness operation in Sargodha district,collecting and disposing of around 14,000 tons of sacrificial animal waste,officials said on Saturday.
Chief Executive Officer(CEO),Rana Muhammad Abu Bakr said the operation was carried out on the special directives of Chief Minister(CM) Punjab,Maryam Nawaz Sharif and under the supervision of divisional and district administration.
He said more than 5,000 workers and over 1,000 machinery units were deployed across the district to ensure timely lifting and disposal of waste during the Eid days.
According to him,517 camps and 217 collection points were established across the district, while 261 dumping sites were designated for proper disposal of animal remains.
Around 15,000 liters of rose water and disinfectants were also used to maintain hygiene at public places,including mosques,Eidgahs and collection points.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said approximately 300,000 waste bags were distributed among citizens before Eid,while around 250,000 animals were sacrificed across the district.
The CEO added that 33,000 fines were imposed on individuals for improper waste disposal,however,the focus remained on immediate removal of garbage to ensure a clean environment.
He said all sanitation-related complaints were addressed on a priority basis,adding that workers showing outstanding performance would be rewarded.
Media representatives appreciated the cleanliness arrangements, saying the district remained visibly cleaner compared to previous years and credited the improvement to better planning and execution.
