200 kitchen gardening kits distributed among women in collaboration of PHE Minister

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Balochistan Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan Khetran on Wednesday said that all possible practical steps are being taken to make women economically independent and empower them in Barkhan district.

He said that women are being skilled in various fields of life along with education is the basic guarantee of a strong and developed society.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Kitchen Gardening Program for Women in Barkhan with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

The Minister said that kitchen gardening would not only help in fulfilling the nutritional needs at the household level but could also lead women towards economic stability.

He said that in the current situation, food self-sufficiency is the need of the hour, and such projects would play a key role in strengthening the rural economy

During the ceremony, 200 kitchen gardening kits were distributed among the women of the area with the special cooperation of the provincial minister and the resources provided by Sardarzada Aurangzeb Khetran.

These kits included quality vegetable seeds of various types and necessary agricultural tools so that women could start regular vegetable cultivation in their homes. Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran reiterated the commitment that such practical steps would be continued for the welfare, education and skill development of women in Barkhan so that they could be economically and socially empowered.
