MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Muzaffargarh police have initiated action against individuals who lodged false First Information Reports (FIRs) in various police stations across the district.
Police spokesman said, Sadar police Muzaffargarh and City police Chowk Sarwar Shaheed have launched a crackdown against complainants and witnesses found involved in filing fake cases.
Action has been taken in 21 cases where the claims of the complainants were found to be false during investigation. The cases included serious allegations like rape, kidnapping and other offences which were later proven baseless.
Four complainants from City police station Chowk Sarwar Shaheed and 17 from PS Saddar have been taken into legal custody.
Police officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against those who got fake cases registered for the purpose of blackmailing or harassing others. Anyone found involved in lodging fabricated complaints would face criminal charges under the law, police warned.
