GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) On the special directions of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau conducted an anti-begging drive in various parts of the city and rescued 24 children.
According to official sources, the operation was carried out at Kutchery Chowk, Circular Road, Machhli Chowk, Gulzar Madina and Service Mor. Teams from the Child Protection Bureau Gujranwala, Labour Department, Rescue 1122, Gujrat Police and Social Welfare Department participated in the joint action.
During the drive, officials also took into custody one adult beggar. The rescued children were shifted to Gujranwala for further legal and welfare proceedings.
