DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) At least 24 people, including women and children, were killed while 14 others got injured after a passenger bus reportedly suffered brake failure and plunged into a deep ravine at Dana Sar, a mountainous area on the border between Dera Ismail Khan and Balochistan, on Friday.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to initial reports, the bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar when its brakes failed, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the road and fell nearly 400 feet into the ravine.
The rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and launched relief operations. The injured and the bodies were shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment and legal formalities.
Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan also dispatched emergency teams to assist in the operation. The rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured before shifting them to hospitals.
