282 shops inspected, violators fined in Abbottabad Ramadan drive

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) The district administration has intensified price and hygiene inspections across Abbottabad during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure the availability of quality food items at officially notified rates.

Additional Deputy Commissioners, the Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad, Additional Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates conducted inspections in various markets of the district. The teams checked shops and hotels to ensure compliance with the official price list and took action against violators.

Officials said that complaints received at the price monitoring desk were also addressed on the spot, while strict action was taken against the sale of substandard items and the use of unhygienic cooking oil.

During the operations, the inspection teams checked 282 shops and hotels, arrested six shopkeepers, imposed fines amounting to Rs81,000, and sealed two shops for violations.

The district administration urged citizens to report overcharging or violations of the official price list to the District Control Room at 0992-9310553 or via WhatsApp at 0335-5851233 for prompt action.
