MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) A total of 286 deserving individuals from minority communities were provided financial assistance cards under a special relief package launched on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif as part of the Ramadan Nigehban Programme.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique distributed Minority Relief Cards among the beneficiaries during a ceremony organized by the district administration.
Under the Punjab government’s social protection initiative, each registered beneficiary will receive Rs10,000 through the Minority Card.
Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said the relief package aimed at providing immediate financial support to vulnerable minority families during Ramadan.
He added that the assistance had been delivered through a transparent and merit-based mechanism to ensure fairness and accountability.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Mohsin Nisar and District Manager PSC Muhammad Waqas Shabbir were also present on the occasion.
Nauman Siddique said the district administration was actively working to promote the welfare and inclusion of minority communities, adding that the Punjab government’s social protection policy focused on extending relief to all deserving segments of society without discrimination.
The beneficiaries appreciated the initiative, terming it a timely measure that would help reduce financial hardship and promote social harmony in the district.
