MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) The district administration is continuing an intensive crackdown to ensure price stability during the holy month of Ramadan, carrying out over 19,000 inspections across markets during last ten days and arresting 29 profiteers.
According to official figures, Price Control Magistrates imposed fines exceeding Rs2.442 million on violators for overcharging and failing to display official price lists.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique said that 51 price control magistrates hav been assigned a special task to strictly enforce government-notified prices during Ramadan.
“Implementation of the official rate list will be ensured at all costs,” he added.
The DC said supply chains from the grain and vegetable wholesale markets to retail outlets are being closely monitored to prevent artificial shortages and price manipulation. He further stated that Pera force has been tasked with checking stocks at warehouses and factories to curb hoarding and profiteering.
