2nd international medical conference on 'Infertility challenges' held at NMDC:

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The Niazi Medical and Dental College (NMDC) hosted the 2nd International Conference on Obstetrics and Gynecology on Wednesday, focusing on the growing prevalence of infertility and advancements in diagnostic and treatment techniques.

The conference was held under the patronage of Chairman board of Directors Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Niazi and Principal Prof. Dr. S. Haider Raza, and brought together gynecologists, senior medical practitioners, faculty members, and students from across the country.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. Shoaib Hussain Shah, who was the chief guest, highlighted the importance of such academic forums in promoting medical research and education to address reproductive health challenges in the region.

Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief Organizer Prof. Dr. Saima Qureshi said the conference addressed infertility as a significant health issue, with discussions covering its causes, timely diagnosis, and modern treatment approaches.

Speakers including Prof. Dr. Arshad Chohan, Prof. Dr. Aisha Malik, Dr. Noreen Javed, Dr. Saeeda Bano, Dr. Nadia Sharif, and Dr. Nabila Iram delivered lectures on topics such as uterine diseases, ovarian disorders, and reproductive tract conditions.

A panel comprising Prof. Dr. Nusrat Javed Awan, Prof. Dr. Samar Amin, Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed, and Prof. Dr. Sadia Saleem participated in scientific sessions and interactive discussions with attendees.

Administrative arrangements were managed by Dr. Nadia Basit, Dr. Iqra Khalid, and Dr. Farheen Zahra, while Dr. Sadaf Kanaan served as the coordinator.

The conference concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants and a commitment to continue research and awareness efforts in the field of reproductive health.
