300 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence to be established across Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) An important meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Minister for School Education Department Rana Sikandar Hayat, with the special participation of Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Malik Shoaib Awan and Managing Director Shahid Farid.

During the meeting, the Minister briefed that, under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a total of 300 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence will be established across the province. In the first phase, 128 schools are being set up with the aim of providing students with modern, high-quality, and international-standard education.

Out of these 128 schools, 89 have already achieved more than 50% progress in construction and development work. The remaining schools are being regularly reviewed to ensure both quality and timely completion. Work on admissions, operationalization, and physical verification is also underway. So far, 76,951 students have been enrolled, including 39,336 boys and 37,615 girls. This significant enrollment reflects growing parental confidence and the expanding success of the initiative.

The Minister further stated that students will be provided with free textbooks. A co-education model is also being effectively implemented at the Primary level. In addition, each school will be equipped with modern educational facilities including science laboratories, robotics labs, computer labs, smart board classrooms, ECCE rooms, and spacious sports grounds. These facilities aim to enhance students’ creativity, scientific thinking, and technical skills in line with modern requirements.

Admission tests for Phase-I are expected to be held in the third week of June, while Phase-II tests are scheduled for the third week of July. The Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence project is a practical reflection of the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision. The initiative will not only promote quality education but also foster modern technology, scientific thinking, and creativity among students. The growing trust of parents reflects that the Government of Punjab is moving in the right direction.
