LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) The process of deportation of illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, is continuing across Punjab, with Punjab Police having so far deported 35,216 individuals from Lahore and other parts of the province.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 208 illegally residing foreign nationals are currently present at various holding points awaiting deportation.
Providing details, the spokesperson said that those deported included 13,766 men, 7,061 women and 14,389 children. He said that among the deportees, 10,954 were holders of Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, 11,131 possessed Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC), while 13,131 were foreign nationals residing illegally in the country.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem said that security across the province has been placed on high alert and efforts are being made to ensure the removal of all illegally residing individuals in accordance with government policy.
He said Punjab Police is implementing the repatriation process of illegally residing foreign nationals in line with international laws and relevant regulations.
