35 drug peddlers arrested in Chiniot crackdown; narcotics, liquor seized

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Chiniot Police have arrested 35 alleged drug peddlers in a district-wide crackdown against narcotics and recovered a large quantity of drugs and illicit liquor from their possession, police officials said on Sunday.

According to police, the raids were carried out in different parts of the district as part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate drug trafficking and curb the sale of narcotics. During the operations, officers recovered 12 kilograms of hashish, 3.6 kilograms of heroin, and 353 litres of illicit liquor.

Police registered separate cases against the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act at the respective police stations and shifted them into custody for further legal proceedings.

Officials said investigations are underway to identify the suspects' suppliers and any possible links to wider drug trafficking networks, adding that the campaign against narcotics will continue without discrimination to ensure a safer environment for the public.
