35 students booked for cheating in exams

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Thirty five students appearing in XI and XII class annual exam of board of Intermediate and Secondary education Shaheed Benazirabad were booked in copying cases after mobile phones were recovered from their custody at the examination centre.

Earlier Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division, Shahmir Khan Bhutto, paid surprise visits to various examination centers during the Grade XI urdu paper conducted under the Board of Intermediate Education Shaheed Benazirabad, and reviewed the arrangements. During his visit to examination center established at Government Girls Degree College Nawabshah, Commissioner inspected different classrooms and examined the measures taken to prevent cheating. Upon re-checking, mobile phones were recovered from 28 female students, following which he directed the concerned external staff to immediately register copying cases and submit a report.

Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the installation of CCTV cameras, availability of drinking water, and other facilities. However, he strictly instructed that indiscriminate action must be taken against candidates found carrying mobile phones during examinations.

Later, he visited Government Sachal Sarmast College examination center, where 7 candidates were booked in copying cases. He also inspected the examination center at Government DC High School, where he observed that the mobile collection point was set up near classrooms. He directed the internal staff to immediately shift the collection point to the main gate of the school. In total, 35 candidates across all centers were booked for using mobile phones during examinations. Commissioner emphasized that cheating will not be tolerated under any circumstances and warned that strict legal action will also be taken against any staff found involved in cheating scam He also appealed parents to advise their children to refrain from such practices, so that this menace can be eradicated from society. Additional Commissioner-II Syed Ammar Hussain, Information Officer Aijaz Ali Teevino, and other concerned officials accompanied commissioner during the visits.
