35kg banned polythene bags seized, fine imposed

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) The Environmental Protection Department conducted inspections at various locations in the district to ensure implementation of environmental laws.

According to official sources, District Officer Environment Usama Majid, along with his team, visited multiple sites and reviewed compliance with environmental regulations.

During the operations, 15 inspections of industrial units and brick kilns were carried out, during which two violations were detected. A fine of Rs200,000 was imposed and recovered from the violators.

In a separate campaign against polythene bags, the teams conducted 15 inspections, seized 35 kilograms of banned polythene bags, and imposed a fine of Rs5,000.

The District Officer Environment Usama Majid said that no violation of environmental laws would be tolerated and strict enforcement actions would continue without interruption.
