RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) Murree administration have successfully disposed of 385 tonnes of sacrificial waste and other garbage during Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness operation carried out under a special plan launched on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a press conference, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Managing Director of Suthra Punjab Agency Murree, Umar Owais Kayani, said the operation conducted at Mall Road and all union councils of Murree district, ensuring timely collection and disposal of animal offal and municipal waste at designated dumping sites.
He said special arrangements were made to ensure the success of the cleanliness campaign during the Eid holidays. As part of the operation, 45,000 biodegradable bags were distributed among residents, while 15,000 kilograms of lime, 900 litres of phenyl and 450 litres of rose water were used to eliminate foul odours and maintain hygiene standards.
Kayani said continuous monitoring was carried out throughout the operation to ensure that no waste or sacrificial remains accumulated at any location.
More than 900 sanitation workers, supervisors and field staff participated in the operation, working round the clock despite a large influx of tourists visiting Murree during the Eid holidays.

The MD Suthra Punjab Agency said a special incentive package was also being provided to sanitation workers on the directives of the chief minister in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
He appreciated the efforts of sanitation staff, district administration, relevant departments and citizens, saying that public cooperation played a vital role in the successful completion of the large-scale operation.
Kayani urged residents to continue supporting the administration by disposing of waste and sacrificial remains at designated collection points to help keep Murree clean, green and attractive.
Operations Manager Tehsil Murree Talha Mir and other officials were also present at the press conference. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintain high cleanliness standards in Murree under the Suthra Punjab Programme.
