4 cops among 12 injured in IED blast on police van in Lakki Marwat

At least 12 people, including four police personnel, were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting a police mobile in Norang Bazaar of Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) At least 12 people, including four police personnel, were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting a police mobile in Norang Bazaar of Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday.

According to police, the explosion occurred near Sabzi Mandi in Sarai Naurang when an IED planted in a motorcycle went off as a police vehicle passed through the area. As a result, four policemen and eight civilians sustained injuries.

Rescue teams and local residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Norang Hospital for medical treatment, while one critically injured policeman was referred to Bannu for advanced care.

The injured were identified as Anwar Saeed (40), Waheedullah (39), Fidaullah (16), Zahidullah (7), Yasir Hamid (14), Ateequr Rehman (12), Salman Sharif (55), Ikram (53), Nawab Ali (26), Hadiullah (45), Jalal Shah (60), Kamal Shah, and Waheedullah (35).

District Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident.
