MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) Secretary Agriculture Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo chaired a cotton crop review meeting here Friday and distributed laptops among Agriculture Extension officers.
The meeting was attended by MNS University of Agriculture Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ali, Special Secretary Agriculture South Punjab Sarfraz Hussain Magsi, and Director Generals Abdul Hameed, Naveed Asmat Kahloon, Dr Amir Rasool, Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman, Dr Muhammad Anjum Ali, along with officers of the Agriculture and Irrigation departments.
President Kissan Ittehad Khalid Mahmood Khokhar and senior agricultural scientists also attended.
Sahoo said the current condition of the cotton crop across Punjab was satisfactory, adding that all possible efforts were being made to exceed the production target assigned to the department.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He directed Agriculture and Irrigation officials to maintain close coordination to ensure timely availability of canal water for the crop.
At a separate ceremony, Sahoo, as chief guest, distributed laptops among field Extension officers. He said 400 laptops were being provided to field formations for the first time in the department's history. The initiative, he said, aimed to modernise agricultural extension services and improve delivery to farmers through better IT infrastructure.
