455 POs arrested in May

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) The police arrested 455 proclaimed offenders (POs) including 161 highly wanted suspects during an intensive month-long crackdown in May 2026.

Police spokesman Tariq Jutt said that the operation was launched on the directions of CPO Faisalabad who constituted special teams across the district to trace and apprehend proclaimed offenders involved in various criminal cases.

As a result of the targeted campaign, the police arrested 161 Category-A proclaimed offenders, considered the most dangerous fugitives, along with 294 Category-B proclaimed offenders.

The law enforcement agencies also succeeded in apprehending 365 court absconders during last month, he added.

He said that the arrested suspects included 14 proclaimed offenders wanted in murder cases, 14 involved in attempted murder cases, and 141 wanted in cases of dacoity and robbery. Their arrests were made possible through coordinated operations, intelligence-based policing and the effective use of modern technical resources, he added.
