488 students complete driving training successfully

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has trained 488 students in safe driving during the current month as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance road safety across the district.

According to CTP spokesperson, the trainees included 300 men and 188 women. Among them, 15 women successfully completed motorcycle riding training.

A spokesperson said that five Traffic Police driving schools are currently operational across the district, providing professional training at affordable fees to facilitate citizens.

The schools are also offering driving lessons to members of the transgender community, ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam stated that students were given comprehensive instruction on traffic laws during theory classes, while qualified instructors supervise practical sessions focused on safe driving skills.

He emphasized that road accidents are not a matter of fate but are largely the result of negligence and lack of awareness.

“Most fatalities in road accidents occur due to non-compliance with traffic rules,” he said, urging citizens to strictly follow traffic laws to ensure safe and pleasant journeys.
