5.1 magnitude quake strikes Balochistan, residents rush outdoors in panic

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) A moderate 5.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Balochistan and nearby regions on Saturday, the PDMA

confirmed.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) said a 5.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded, with the epicentre located about 58 kilometres northeast of Barkhan, local media channels reported.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), tremors were felt on Saturday morning in Musakhel, Barkhan, Rakhni and Kohlu, with reports of minor injuries and damage to houses in several areas of

Musakhel.

Mostly people came out of their homes in panic and rushed towards open areas for safety after strong tremors were felt across the affected regions.

The PDMA further stated that minor injuries were reported from Kangari, Rarasham and Kajhori, adding that relief and rescue teams have been dispatched to the affected regions to carry out emergency operations.
