5 held in Tank police crackdown on robbery, murder

TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) The Tank police have arrested five suspects, including three allegedly involved in robbery and one in a murder case, during a crackdown on rising crime.

Addressing at a press conference, DSP City Circle Imran Khattak said the action was taken on the directions of District Police Officer Abdul Samad Khan, who had ordered strict measures against increasing incidents of theft and robbery.

Under his supervision, the station house officer of SM Police Station, Taous Khan, led the operation that resulted in the arrest of a robbery gang.

The arrested suspects were identified as Adil, son of Noor Ali; Qayamuddin, son of Mirzali; and Salahuddin, also known as Sallu, son of Gul Salam. The police said the suspects were traced through scientific methods.

A stolen pistol, three cows allegedly purchased with stolen money, and a briefcase used during the crime were recovered from their possession.

In a separate operation, the police arrested Imran, son of Sher Zaman, in connection with a case involving murder, theft, and housebreaking. He was taken into custody through a targeted strategy.

Another suspect, Sheikh Hassan, son of Sher Ali, was also arrested in a separate case.

DSP Imran Khattak said the operations against criminals would continue without discrimination, adding that no one is above the law. He also thanked media representatives for attending the press conference on short notice and appreciated their continued cooperation.
