52 profiteers arrested in Quetta operation against mini petrol pumps

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) On directive of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and public complaints, a major crackdown was carried out against the mini petrol pump mafia and 52 owners of mini pumps were arrested.

On this occasion, 68 mini petrol pumps were sealed and 52 people were arrested and sent to jail.

According to the details, a large-scale crackdown was carried out against illegal mini petrol pumps and illegal profiteers across the district on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini.

These operations were carried out in Sub-Division City, Saddar, Sariab and Kuchlak. During these operations, a total of 68 mini petrol pumps were sealed while 52 people were arrested and sent to jail.

The crackdown was supervised by Assistant Commissioner City Muhammad Amir Hamza, Special Magistrate Ijaz Hussain Khosa, Assistant Commissioner Sariab Musawar Ahmed Achakzai, Assistant Commissioner Sadr Muhammad Yousuf Hashmi, Assistant Commissioner Kuchlak Captain (retd) Kabir Mazari and Special Magistrate Haseeb Sardar.

According to the district administration, indiscriminate action would continue against public complaints, those selling petrol at high prices and elements involved in illegal business.

Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini clarified that illegal profiteers and hoarders would be dealt with sternly and no compromise to be made on protecting the interests of citizens.
