6,348 volunteers mobilized, 40 special-needs pilgrims supported during Hajj

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport deployed 6,348 male and female volunteers to serve pilgrims during Hajj 1447 AH while also enabling 40 people with disabilities and humanitarian cases to perform Hajj under a special social responsibility initiative.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry continued its volunteer and community service efforts across several locations dedicated to serving pilgrims during the Hajj season.

Volunteers contributed to more than 160 different services through 78 volunteer opportunities, benefiting over 247,000 pilgrims and visitors.

SPA told APP that the volunteer programme generated more than 31,000 volunteer hours under the supervision of 14 field coordinators, reflecting the growing role of community participation in supporting Hajj operations.

The ministry also facilitated 40 beneficiaries humanitarian cases and persons with disabilities for Hajj as part of its social responsibility programmes aimed at promoting inclusion and community support.

Authorities said the initiative was designed to help individuals who might otherwise face difficulties in performing Hajj and to ensure they could complete the pilgrimage with dignity, comfort and appropriate assistance.

The Ministry of Sport’s volunteer and community programmes form part of wider national efforts to enhance pilgrims’ experience and promote the values of service, solidarity and volunteerism during Hajj 1447 AH.
