According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the commission carried out these major upgrades over the past four years through Kidana Development Company, focusing on improving facilities, transport and overall services in Makkah and the holy sites.

The statement said rest areas and pedestrian pathways have been expanded to 66,000 square meters, while 60,000 trees have been planted to help reduce heat and improve the environment for pilgrims.

In Mina, restroom capacity has reached 7,800 units, cutting waiting time by 75%, while healthcare services have been strengthened with a 200% increase in Mina Emergency Hospital capacity and improvements at Jabal Al-Rahmah in Arafat.

Transport arrangements include a central automated control system and a fleet of 24,000 buses, including 2,500 for arrivals and 400 buses operating within Makkah on 14 routes, ensuring smooth movement of pilgrims.
