6 buildings demolished, 4 sealed during crackdown on illegal constructions

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) The district administration demolished six buildings and sealed four others

during a citywide crackdown on illegal constructions, here on Tuesday.

The action was carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Lahore

Muhammad Ali Ijaz, as enforcement of building regulations was further intensified

in the city.

According to official sources, district administration teams conducted targeted

operations in Aziz Bhatti Town, covering Khawaja Ahmad Hassan Road, Zaitoon

Colony, Hassanabad, Rashidpura, Mominpura, and adjoining areas of Nadia

Ghee Mills.

During the operation, a total of 10 illegal constructions were identified for violations

of building by-laws and construction without approved maps. Officials confirmed

that six structures were demolished while four were sealed on the spot.

The Deputy Commissioner said that indiscriminate action against illegal constructions

would continue across Lahore as part of an ongoing drive to enforce building codes

and ensure regulated urban development.

He stressed that no construction without

approved maps would be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that public safety

and the rule of law remain top priorities of the administration.

DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz further said that targeted operations were being carried out

continuously across the city. He reiterated the district administration’s commitment

to strict and non-discriminatory enforcement of laws. He added that the crackdown

would continue to uphold urban planning standards and safeguard public interest

across Lahore.

Meanwhile, the district administration imposed Rs131,000 in fines and detected 44 violations

during a citywide price control enforcement drive conducted across various markets in the city.

Field teams carried out 3,818 inspections, while eight individuals were arrested for overcharging

and violation of price control regulations.

Officials said the crackdown on overpricing and hoarding would continue through daily

market inspections to ensure compliance with official rate lists and maintain market

stability across the city.
