The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Thursday detained six people during an operation in the New Blue Area after officials found valet parking services operating without driving licences and illegal parking stands set up on green belts
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Thursday detained six people during an operation in the New Blue Area after officials found valet parking services operating without driving licences and illegal parking stands set up on green belts.
The action was carried out by the Assistant Commissioner of the Industrial Area as part of an operation against traffic violations and unauthorized parking activities.
According to officials, the administration received reports about illegal valet parking services being run in commercial areas without proper permission. During the inspection, several workers were found providing valet services despite not holding valid driving licences.
The administration also found that parking stands had been established illegally on public green belts, causing obstruction and misuse of public space. Officials said such activities create traffic problems and disturb the flow of vehicles in busy commercial areas.
Following the operation, 6 individuals were taken into custody and shifted to the local lock-up for further legal proceedings. The administration stated that action would continue against people involved in unauthorized parking operations and traffic rule violations.
Officials said public spaces, including green belts, cannot be used for commercial purposes without approval from the concerned authorities. They added that strict monitoring would continue in different sectors of the capital to prevent illegal parking arrangements and ensure implementation of traffic laws.
The district administration also urged business owners and parking operators to follow official regulations while providing valet parking services. Authorities warned that further violations could lead to arrests and legal action.
