829,000 cubic meters water supplied to pilgrims on first Day of Tashreeq

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) More than 829,000 cubic meters of water were distributed across Makkah and the holy sites on the first Day of Tashreeq as Saudi authorities continued round-the-clock efforts to ensure uninterrupted services for pilgrims during Hajj 1447 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the National Water Company distributed 829,229 cubic meters of water during the day, reflecting the operational readiness of the water sector during one of the busiest phases of Hajj.

More than 610,000 cubic meters of incoming water were also treated at the Hadda and Arafat wastewater treatment facilities as part of environmental and sanitation operations serving the holy sites.

SPA told APP that water pumping operations continued smoothly through networks serving the holy sites and facilities around the Grand Mosque without any significant service interruptions.

The company’s operational system relies on more than 5,700 kilometers of water pipelines and over 4,000 kilometers of environmental services networks to maintain reliable supplies during the Hajj season.

Authorities said quality-control teams also conducted 4,283 laboratory tests on the 11th of Dhul-Hijjah to ensure water quality and compliance with approved health standards.

Saudi Arabia’s water sector continues implementing its operational plans to provide safe and reliable water services for millions of pilgrims performing Hajj rituals in Makkah and the holy sites.
