LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) A solemn and spiritual ceremony was held at the shrine of Iqbal on the occasion of the struggle for truth, in which a rich tribute was paid to the thinker of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
At the ceremony, renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan presented Allama Iqbal's famous poem "Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua" and other poems, which enchanted the audience. Students of Government College University also warmed up the gathering by presenting the poem of Iqbal, while Maimuna Sajid presented "Har Lehja Hai Momin Ki Nai Aan Nai Shan" to the applause of the participants.
Vice-chancellors and educationists of various universities specially attended the occasion. The participants included Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology Dr. Shahid Munir, Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Principal Kinnaird College for Women University Dr. Iram, Pro-Rector of the University of Management and Technology Dr.
Ijazullah Cheema, Dean of the Punjab University Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Dean of Lahore College for Women University Dr. Rehana, Dean of Government College University Dr. Shahzad Hussain, Vice Chancellor of Superior University Dr. Muhammad Nizam and Professor Dr. Nadeem Jaffer, who attended the ceremony and expressed their views.
The speakers highlighted Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of self-reliance and the two-nation theory and described the success of the struggle for truth as the fulfillment of Iqbal’s dreams. They also paid great tribute to the Pakistani armed forces.
The ceremony fully expressed the feelings of national unity, the ideology of Pakistan and patriotism, while the speakers described Iqbal’s thought as a guiding light for the new generation.
At the end, a special prayer was also offered for the security, development and stability of the country.
