AAC Gumbat inspects food outlets, warns against hoarding and poor hygiene

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz, Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Gumbat Syed Mukhtiar Shah conducted a comprehensive inspection of food outlets, bakeries, vegetable shops and general stores in Gumbat area on Wednesday.

The inspection was carried out to monitor food quality, ensure implementation of official price lists, and check compliance with hygiene standards.

Officials checked government-approved rate lists at various shops and warned vendors against overcharging or hoarding essential commodities. The AAC stressed that the administration would not tolerate artificial price hikes that burden the public.

Several bakery units were also inspected for cleanliness.

The AAC issued strict instructions to owners and staff to maintain proper hygiene and ensure that food items are prepared in a clean and sanitary environment.

During the visit, the quality of edible items was examined to prevent the sale of expired or substandard products.

Speaking on the occasion, AAC Syed Mukhtiar Shah said the district administration was committed to protecting consumer rights and ensuring the availability of quality food at fixed rates.

He warned that strict legal action, including heavy fines and sealing of shops, would be taken against violators.

The inspection is part of an ongoing crackdown by the district administration in Kohat to ensure price control, food safety and public relief across the district.
