Abbottabad admin declares public holidays for 1st, 9th and 10th Muharram

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) In accordance with the orders of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the district administration Abbottabad has officially announced a public holiday on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, on the occasion of 1st Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 Hijri.

According to the notification, all government offices within District Abbottabad will remain closed on this day to observe the beginning of the Islamic new year.

In addition to the 1st Muharram holiday, it has also been notified that 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram corresponding to 26 and 27 June 2026 will also be observed as public holidays in the district.

These days are traditionally observed across the country to mark Youm-e-Ashura with religious devotion and respect. The district administration has urged citizens to observe the holy days with solemnity, peace, and religious harmony.

Security arrangements and other administrative measures are expected to be finalized in due course to ensure smooth observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.
