Abbottabad administration vows strict action against environmental pollution in Mangal, Bagan Nala

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The district administration of Abbottabad has reiterated its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable management of natural water streams during a high-level meeting held on Mangal and Bagan Nala, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram.

The meeting reviewed in detail key environmental concerns including pollution in water channels, discharge of untreated sewage, industrial and hospital waste disposal, illegal dumping, mining activities, deteriorating water quality, illegal hunting, sanitation issues, and overall waste management challenges in the area.

Officials from relevant departments, including the Assistant Commissioner Headquarters, Assistant Director SIDB, DFO Wildlife, TMA, WSSC, Ayub Teaching Hospital, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Farmers Association, and members of the Mangal Bachao Tehreek attended the meeting and presented suggestions for environmental improvement and restoration of natural resources.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to take strict action against sources of pollution and illegal activities. He emphasized the need for an effective waste management system, improvement in water quality, and coordinated efforts among all institutions to ensure timely implementation of decisions.

He further stated that only a joint and integrated strategy can guarantee a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the public.
