AC conducts market inspection, imposes fines on violators

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Sargodha Ahmed Sher Gondal on Thursday conducted visits to various markets across the city to ensure implementation of official price lists and monitor the sale of essential food items.

According to the official spokesperson here, the AC reviewed prices of commodities and checked compliance with government-issued rate lists.

On the occasion the AC was briefed that strict action was taken against shopkeepers involved in overcharging and those failing to display or follow the prescribed rates.

Several violators were fined heavily on the spot.

Ahmed Sher Gondal directed shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the official price list and ensure the availability of quality food items.

He warned that failure to comply would result in stringent legal action, including possible imprisonment.

He further stated that providing relief to the public remained the top priority of the administration, and no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.
