AC Dera reviews slaughterhouse facilities, orders expansion plan

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddique on Saturday visited the government slaughterhouse to review arrangements aimed at shifting animal slaughtering activities to the official facility and improving hygiene standards.

During the visit, he was accompanied by the Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Dera Ismail Khan and Veterinary Officer Dr Asif.

The AC inspected cleanliness, sanitation systems, and water supply arrangements in detail. He expressed satisfaction over the overall condition of the facility and directed concerned authorities to ensure the continued maintenance of hygiene and administrative standards.

Dr Siddique also reviewed ongoing work on the approach road leading to the slaughterhouse.

Officials informed him that the road project would be completed within 30 days, improving access for butchers and the general public.

Emphasizing improved civic services, he underlined the need for establishing additional slaughterhouses at suitable locations across the city to facilitate residents and reduce transportation costs.

He directed the TMO to prepare and submit a comprehensive feasibility plan, including proposed sites, within 15 days for consideration and further action.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring hygienic slaughtering practices and providing better public service delivery through improved municipal infrastructure.
