DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddiq, conducted an emergency visit to different urban areas following rainfall to review drainage arrangements and assess the situation of accumulated rainwater.
The visit was carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan.
Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Chief Executive Officer of Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC), Manager Operations WSSC, revenue officials and representatives of other relevant departments accompanied the assistant commissioner during the inspection.
The assistant commissioner visited GPO Chowk, Kalma Chowk, Hussainia Chowk, Madni Town, Mariali and Hamza City, where he reviewed the drainage situation, main outlets and stormwater channels.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He directed the concerned departments to ensure the immediate removal of rainwater from low-lying areas, clear all obstructions in drains and utilize all available resources to provide prompt relief to residents.
During the visit, WSSC teams remained engaged in dewatering operations at various locations, while officials of PHED and the Revenue Department continued monitoring the situation to ensure the smooth flow of drainage.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddiq said the district administration was fully committed to restoring normal civic life at the earliest and ensuring uninterrupted municipal services. He added that all relevant departments had been directed to remain on high alert and continue monitoring drainage operations to minimize inconvenience to the public.
