ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Wednesday, said that timely and accurate information provided by journalists plays a key role in judicial and legal processes.

The exchange of immediate information regarding court decisions and protection of public rights gives law enforcement agencies and the public an opportunity to benefit. This process strengthens trust between the judiciary and journalism, he said.

The minister expressed these views while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Press Association of the Supreme Court.

President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Haroon-ul-Rashid and Ahsan Bhawan of the Pakistan Bar Association were also present on the occasion.

Azam Tarar urged journalists to avoid hasty speculation in the accuracy of information and unconfirmed news, as unconfirmed news can cause legal and social harm.

He said that accurate and timely reporting of developments in judicial and legal matters is very useful for the public and the legal community.

He appreciated the services of journalists and said that timely provision of information regarding court decisions, FIRs, property distribution and other legal matters through the Press Association is of utmost importance.

The minister said that it is the responsibility of both the government and the judiciary to ensure that accurate information about judicial proceedings and decisions reaches the public.

Later, the Federal Minister of Law and Justice administered the oath of office to the newly elected office bearers of the association and reiterated his commitment to cooperate and communicate with them.
