Accused arrested within few hours after acid attack on woman

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) Roshanwala police within few hours arrested an accused of throwing acid on his sister-in-law

and her two-year-old girl before opening fire and injuring the woman in a

domestic violence incident.

A police spokesman said on Saturday that the accused, Ali Haider of Kot Momin Sargodha

has allegedly attacked his sister-in-law, Sana Bibi and her two-year-old girl, Kaneeza, by throwing

acid on them before firing at Sana Bibi, leaving her injured.

He said that Station House Officer (SHO) Roshanwala Shahid Pervaiz utilized technical resources and modern investigative methods to trace and arrest the accused within few hours of the incident, preventing his

escape and ensuring prompt legal action.

Police investigations revealed that the accused had contracted a second marriage, following

which his first wife, Sonia, became upset and returned to her parental home.

The accused allegedly went to his wife's family residence in Chak No.253-RB islam Nagar

and attacked her sister and young daughter in a violent act of revenge.

The accused was locked behind the bars while further legal proceedings were underway

to complete the investigation and prosecute him under the relevant provisions

of law, he added.
