ACE recovers Rs.10.92m,932 govt PP bags in food dept corruption case

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has recovered Rs.10.92 million along with 932 government-owned PP bags in a mega embezzlement case in food department,here on Wednesday.

The recoveries were made during ongoing investigations conducted under the special directives of Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab,Sohail Zafar Chattha.

According to an official press release,the case was registered as FIR No.09/26 dated April 18,2026 under Section 409 PPC at ACE Pakpattan police station against accused Zeeshan Afzal,a Food Grain Inspector,on charges of massive embezzlement and misuse of government resources.

During physical remand on May 12,ACE team recovered an additional Rs.2.4 million in cash and 932 government PP bags from the accused.

Earlier,ACE officials had already recovered Rs.8.5 million in the same case.

With the latest seizure,the total recovery has now reached Rs.10.92 million,making it one of the biggest recoveries in the history of Sahiwal division.

The operation was carried out by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT),whose sustained efforts,professional expertise and effective investigation led to the successful recoveries.

Further investigations was underway.
