ADC chairs meeting on health care facilities

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Shaheed Benazirabad, Saddam Hussain Memon, chaired a meeting on healthcare at Darbar Hall Tuesday, to review and improve health facilities across the district.

The meeting aimed to enhance healthcare services, ensure implementation of regulations, and provide quality medical facilities to public.

Addressing the participants, Additional Deputy Commissioner said that registration of all private medical centers, clinics, laboratories, and blood banks is mandatory, and no facility will be allowed to operate without proper registration.

ADC directed Sindh Healthcare Commission to further strengthen monitoring of private health facilities and take immediate action against illegal practices.

He also ordered strict action against medical stores involved in the sale of government-supplied medicines, including sealing of such outlets and registration of FIRs. Additional Deputy Commissioner instructed owners of private medical centers to strictly follow SOPs and ensure proper disposal of medical waste by registering with Peoples Medical Hospital.

The meeting also discussed safe blood supply, standard screening systems, and timely availability of blood for thalassemia patients. Officials were directed to ensure modern screening systems in all blood banks to prevent the spread of diseases.

The Drug Inspector was instructed to conduct regular inspections of medical stores across the district and take strict legal action against those selling expired, substandard, or unregistered medicines.

Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized that providing quality healthcare facilities to the public is top priority of the district administration, and no negligence will be tolerated. He also directed all relevant departments to improve coordination and take immediate steps to address healthcare challenges.

The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, Dr. Riaz Shah, officials from health department and representatives of private medical centers.
