ADC chairs meeting regarding public health

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Saddam Hussain Memon, chaired a meeting regarding public health, particularly child care, at Darbar Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Mudassir Hussain, Medical Superintendent of PMCH Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, Deputy Director Sindh Healthcare Commission Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, representatives from Blood Transfusion Authority, ChildLife Foundation, Thalassemia Welfare Society, private medical centers, and other relevant officials.

During meeting, a detailed review was conducted about healthcare facilities for children across the district, availability of treatment, supply of medicines, functioning of blood banks, and treatment related to thalassemia and other diseases.

Additional Deputy Commissioner directed that facilities for child treatment in both public and private hospitals be further improved and that emergency services remain fully operational. He also instructed relevant institutions to ensure the quality standards of blood banks and to take strict action against illegal activities.

ADC directed all medical centers to appoint trained male or female staff for cannulation and blood transfusion procedures.

ADC emphasized that children’s health is a top priority of the government and that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.

He also instructed all institutions to strengthen mutual coordination and ensure the provision of better healthcare facilities to public.
