ADCG reviews price magistrates’ performance

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) A review meeting of price magistrates was held under the chairmanship of Additional

Deputy Commissioner General Naeem Bashir to assess enforcement performance

during May 2026.

According to the DC office spokesperson, 67,375 inspections were carried out across

the district in May, during which 1,442 shopkeepers were fined Rs 3.105 million for

overcharging and violating official price lists. Eight profiteers were arrested and

33 shops and warehouses were sealed over serious violations.

During the meeting, the ADCG directed magistrates to further strengthen market

monitoring and ensure strict implementation of government-approved rates. He said

action against hoarding, profiteering, and artificial inflation would continue without

any discrimination on the directions of Deputy Commissioner.

The meeting reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to maintaining price

stability and protecting consumers through effective enforcement.
