HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) Adeel Siddiqui, a leader of the Businessmen Panel (Progressive) of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has stressed the need to ensure meaningful economic progress alongside Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts regarding the current conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

In a statement issued here Tuesday he said these meaningful gains must include diplomatic steps into functional border markets, visa free business travel and banking channels. He added that Pakistan was legitimately mediating between the warring parties to promote peace. By effectively utilizing its diplomatic strength, Pakistan had fostered regional reconciliation, revived trade negotiations and regained its geopolitical significance, while the business community stands fully ready to build on this momentum.

He appreciated Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy, supported by the army, but cautioned that significant challenges still remain in achieving lasting peace.

He emphasized that diplomacy cannot be sustained without a stable Currency, declining inflation and growth in exports.

He further stated that the business community requires consistent and uninterrupted trade connectivity, urging the government to translate diplomatic opportunities into concrete measures. He said that even a single security incident in an industrial zone could undermine months of diplomatic efforts. He also called for the formation of a cross party charter to ensure continuity in economic and diplomatic policies, and demanded equal opportunities for traders in commerce and exports.

Supporting the ongoing diplomatic shift, Siddiqui concluded that peace initiatives must be linked with sound policies, predictability and the vision of a prosperous Pakistan.
