Administration listing vacant state land to maximize revenue through commercial use

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) All the district departments of Muzaffargarh have started listing vacant state land in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to maximize state revenue from public assets through promoting commercial activity.

Officials said, an important meeting was held here with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Owaid Irshad Bhatti in the chair and all the heads of district departments were told to compile complete details of vacant/unused state land so that it could be utilized for income-generating projects, including shops, restaurants, food courts, commercial plazas, parking sites, markets, and other business ventures.

He sought comprehensive reports for each site, including land measurements, current market value, commercial potential, possible business use, GPS coordinates, location, and estimated revenue generation.

Bhatti said that effective commercial use of state land would not only enhance revenue but also create new business opportunities and employment at the local level.

He further directed all departments to submit actionable proposals and complete data within the stipulated timeframe so that government assets could be transformed into sustainable sources of income through proper planning and management.
